“Medley:  Concierto de Aranjuez and Spain” played by Bucky Pizzarelli on Live at the Vineyard

Bucky Pizzarelli is a jazz guitarist and banjoist.  He is also the father of John and Martin Pizzarelli.  He cites his influences as Django Reinhardt, Freddie Green, and George Van Eps.

The Concierto de Aranjuez is a gorgeous classical work for guitar and orchestra by Joaquin Roderigo in 1939.  Here it can be heard played by jazz musicians including Jim Hall, Paul Desmond, and Chet Baker.  ”Spain” is a jazz work by Chick Corea that used the second movement of the Concierto as its introduction.
